Željko Obradović will no longer be the coach of the Partizan Basketball Club, the information spread on Wednesday at noon.

There is no official reaction from Humska, and the black-and-white expedition has not yet returned from Athens, writes Sport Klub.

The day after the convincing defeat against Panathinaikos and the devastating performance of the black-and-whites in the second half, there was increasing talk about the next moves of the trophy-winning coach, as well as the club management led by president Ostoja Mijailović.

The team from Humska, despite a record budget, has poor results in the EuroLeague and with a 4-9 record, is in the lower part of the table, and Obradović submitted his resignation after the match in the “OAKA” hall! There is no confirmation yet.

Sport Klub also contacted President Mijailović, but we did not receive an answer before the text was published.

The portal “Mocart sport,” which belongs to the company that is the general sponsor of Partizan, also writes about Obradović’s resignation.

The sixty-five-year-old coach returned to Partizan in 2021 and, in his second tenure on the bench, won two ABA League trophies (2023 and 2025) and the Serbian Championship (2025). In the 2022/23 season, the black-and-whites were eliminated in the EuroLeague quarterfinals by Real Madrid, although they led the series 2-0.

The fans of the club from Humska have repeatedly shown dissatisfaction with the team’s players, most recently in the duel with Fenerbahçe when they booed the players and left the “Belgrade Arena” before the duel was over.

If Obradović truly leaves the club, unofficial stories circulate that Andrea Trinchieri, who has been unemployed since parting ways with Žalgiris this summer, should take over the squad from Humska.

The Italian of American descent led Partizan from 2018 to 2020 and won two Radivoj Korać Cups. The black-and-whites’ excellent 2019-20 season was interrupted by the coronavirus. At that moment, they were first in the ABA League and had the best record in the EuroCup before the quarterfinal duel with Unics.

After Partizan, Trinchieri worked for Bayern Munich (2020-2023) and Žalgiris (2023-2025).

The black-and-whites play their next match on December 4 against Bayern in the Serbian capital.
