Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appeared on Fox News, where he addressed the chaos and argument that took place in the White House during his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump and U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance.

Host Bret Baier asked Zelensky whether he believes the relationship with Donald Trump can be salvaged.

“Yes, of course, because these are relations that go beyond two presidents. These are historic relations, strong relations between our people, and that’s why I thanked the American people. Of course, I am grateful to the president and, of course, to Congress, but above all, to your people. Your people helped save our people. We really wanted to have these strong relations, and where it was important, we will continue to have them,” said Zelensky, emphasizing that he does not intend to apologize, as reported by Klix.

He also stated that he doesn’t think he said anything wrong during his stay in the White House, but he stressed that such an approach is bad for both sides.

“I just want to be honest, and I just want our partners to understand the situation correctly, and I want everything to be understood correctly. It’s about not losing our friendship,” he said.

He explained his reactions to certain statements from the U.S. leadership.

“For example, when they say that Ukraine is almost destroyed, that our soldiers fled, that they are not heroes, that Ukraine has lost millions of civilians, that its president is a dictator. What’s the reaction? The reaction is, where is our friendship between Ukraine and the United States? That’s the feeling,” Zelensky noted.

He emphasized that nothing in war is funny or fairytale-like.

“This is real life. That’s what I said. We were in dialogue, and then the same things started repeating. That’s not a good path between partners and friends,” he said.

He also answered the question of whether he thinks Trump planned the argument.

“I don’t know. It was a tough situation because we were very open, very direct,” concluded Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
