The Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) has released its annual financial report, revealing that the company ended 2024 with a net profit of over 18 billion dinars. This is significantly lower than the 41 billion dinars recorded the previous year and represents NIS’s worst performance since 2020, when the company ended the year with a loss, according to Nova Ekonomija.

As seen in the report published on the website of the Business Registers Agency (APR), NIS’s total revenue in 2024 amounted to 392 billion dinars, compared to 402.7 billion dinars in 2023.

On the other hand, the company’s expenses have increased. In 2024, expenditures reached 369.8 billion dinars, compared to 352.9 billion dinars in the previous year.

In other words, in 2024, NIS’s revenue was about 10 billion dinars lower, while its expenses were approximately 16.9 billion dinars higher than in 2023.

The net result last year was 18.3 billion dinars, whereas in 2023, it stood at 41.9 billion.

It is worth noting that on January 10 of this year, the United States placed NIS on its sanctions list due to its ownership ties with the Russian company Gazprom Neft. However, the implementation of sanctions has been postponed twice. After a 30-day extension granted to the Serbian government at the end of February, another extension for the same period was approved at the end of March.
