Students and citizens of Novi Sad have been protesting at various locations across the city for the third consecutive night.
This evening, cyclists gathered near the Futoška Pijaca at 7 PM and pedaled in a protest ride to the rectorate. The gathering on campus this evening was dubbed “Wheel of (Un)fortune,” and one of the students announced that they would head to Sonja Marinković Street. That’s the address of Rector Dejan Madić.
“We looked for him multiple times around the city but never found him. Now we are going to the street where our unloved rector lives,” a student stated.
The rallies had previously announced that a “lucky winner” in this “game” would be chosen every day.
During the march, citizens changed their minds and headed towards Vase Stajića Street, where Maja Gojković, President of the Provincial Government, lives. The gathered crowd was in Vase Stajića Street around 9:30 PM, shouting “boooo” and “your hands are bloody.” At one point, a minor incident occurred when an elderly driver tried to pass through the column and almost hit a woman from Novi Sad. Citizens surrounded him and called the police.
A portion of the citizens blocked Bulevar Oslobođenja near Futoška Pijaca just before 10 PM. Cyclists are currently riding around the city in a protest pedal.
It’s worth recalling that the night before last, citizens protested in the street where SNS President Miloš Vučević is registered, and last night in the street where one of Mayor Žarko Mićin’s apartments is located.

Students Announce Action Starting July 25
During tonight’s action, students announced that the “Freedom Zone” event would begin on July 25 at the University Campus.
“Almost nine months ago, the canopy fell. And students rose up. What began as a cry for justice has become a fight for everything that has been taken from us. For dignity, for institutions, for a safe and humane life, and for basic rights,” read the announcement.
All this time, they added, the regime has been trying to break them, to force them back into silence and apathy.
“What do you say? How are they doing? That’s why, on July 25, the Campus becomes our territory. Our space, our voice! There we will fight with creativity, dialogue, solidarity! Here we are building the future—together,” they declared.
