The United States may impose additional sanctions on Russia, U.S. President Donald Trump said last night.
“This is a terrible war, worse than World War II. Look at the people killing each other — it’s Russia, Ukraine. There are many reasons why they are doing it, but I think negotiations will begin soon,” Trump said, adding that Washington and its NATO allies will increase pressure on Russia in order to end the war.
During a meeting with Finnish President Alexander Stubb at the White House in Washington, he said that the U.S. sells weapons to Alliance members, who then deliver them to Ukraine. He added that the U.S. does not plan to withdraw its forces from Europe.
“We have a lot of troops in Europe, and we can relocate some. But no, basically everything will stay where it is,” Trump said.
