The Government of Serbia decided at this morning’s emergency session to ban the export of oil and all petroleum products used for engine fuel, according to a statement.
“The ban applies to the export of diesel, gasoline and crude oil by all modes of transport until March 19, after which we will make further decisions. The essence of this ban is the protection of the domestic market from shortages and price increases, due to global disruptions on the world market,” said Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović.
She pointed out that Serbia is a country “in which citizens pay for petroleum products cheaper compared to their real price on the stock exchange,” and that the state is doing “everything to protect citizens and the economy.”
