President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić said today that lawyer Borivoje Borović is “extorting,” and that the people from the tent settlement near the Parliament are “heroes who have preserved the state.”

“As soon as you hear the word extortion, it is immediately clear what Borović has been doing his whole life, and absolutely everyone in the city knows it,” Vučić said, adding that Borović does this with the support of part of the judicial and prosecutorial system.

According to him, Borović has “always done that – he extorts criminals a little, criminals extort him a little, the same vicious circle of criminals extorting one another, so he thinks all people are like that.”

“People who have preserved the state are heroes, they preserved it from criminals such as Borović and such extortionists,” Vučičć said during a tour of the final works on a new facility for the special unit “Kobre” at the “Vasa Čarapić” barracks in Belgrade.

Borović, in an interview for the daily Danas, stated that “a large number of his clients are camping in that Ćacilend, although formally it is being dismantled.”

He also stated that “many people from this park have begun visiting private restaurants and taking extortion money, and the police are not stopping them,” as well as that they set hospitality facilities on fire if the owners refuse to pay extortion, and that this was the case with several cafés in Vračar.

In the announcement of daily events on the website of the Presidency, the time when it would take place was not listed, but, judging from the broadcast, pro-government media attended the tour of works at the barracks this morning.
