The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, met with the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, in New York on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

Vučić wrote on his Instagram profile that he had a “good and meaningful conversation” with Netanyahu.

“What is especially important is that we opened the topic of contracting a free trade agreement between Serbia and Israel, which would be a big step in the development of our future relations,” Vučić wrote last night.

Serbia appreciates the partnership with the Emirates

President Vučić also met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, stressing during the conversation how much Serbia appreciates the partnership with the Emirates, based on common values and a long-term vision for a better future.

Vučić wrote on his Instagram profile that he asked the Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE to convey his warm greetings to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, whom he called a “great and important friend of Serbia” whose contribution to strengthening the ties between the two countries “has special significance and who tirelessly works to strengthen the friendship” between the two nations.

“I believe that the cooperation between Serbia and the United Arab Emirates will continue to develop on the basis of trust, mutual respect, and a shared vision of a prosperous future,” Vučić wrote.

Reception in honour of the Non-Aligned Movement

Vučić also attended a reception last night in honour of the creation of the Non-Aligned Movement, stating on his Instagram profile that the Non-Aligned Movement represents one of the most significant chapters in the country’s policy, through which Serbia, as the successor of the former Yugoslavia, left a deep mark in the history of international relations.

“We are proud that Serbia continues to preserve and develop the legacy of the non-aligned, relying on its historical role and rich experience in conducting dialogue and building bridges of friendship among nations,” Vučić said.
