Aleksandar Vučić joined TV Prva, “from the outskirts of Niš,” by his own admission, and as he said, he will walk through Niš tonight. Among other things, he spoke about the General Staff. He said that “it would be fair if they filed that indictment for the General Staff against him,” and that it would be the crown of his career.
When asked about tabloid reports that the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime would charge him in the General Staff case, Vučić said:
“And why should they file charges against some Jelača, Nikola Selaković, Siniša Mali, I don’t know who. Do not deceive the public, they are never guilty, file it against me immediately. That would be the crown of my career, proof that I am formally persecuted for doing everything under impossible conditions and that I am to blame for everything,” Vučić said, and continued:
“I would like them to prosecute me for the General Staff, because it is an important project for the whole of Serbia, an exceptional project. I wanted that as soon as I joined the Ministry of Defense, and then as Prime Minister in 2016. We have a building that was one of the ugliest in Serbia, built by a communist persecutor of free people and free thought, and which was never under state protection,” he said and added:
“They started protecting it with the initiative for that building in 2005 when they started the story about Marshalat, which they sold for next to nothing, dirt cheap for only 15 million dollars. Here there is no dinar, there was no dinar in any financial transaction, no one took a dinar anywhere. Here it is a matter of an idea. What is my idea, which I am proud of, to build a magnificent hotel and a Museum of Remembrance for the victims,” he said, adding that it is an investment of 600 million dinars, which will employ dozens of construction companies, and a lot of people will be employed when it is built.
He said that he would pardon all those accused for the General Staff and ask that only he be tried.
“If they file charges against five or six of us, I will make the procedure against me alone, I will pardon all the others. I will say – I am guilty of everything you accuse them of, ready for prison, ready for everything, the Serbian people will judge us.”

They are afraid that I will judge them, said Vučić.
“That would be the most interesting trial in the history of Serbia, Kočić is a small child, what I would do to them, that would be a challenge for me,” he said.
