Viktor Miletić got a chance to continue treatment because a call came from Houston! “Despite all the uncertainties, bad prognoses, doctors who had written him off and a round-the-clock search for a hospital that would accept him – we finally got a positive response,” are the words of Viktor’s family who spoke out on social media.

“On the same day he was operated on in America nine years ago, Viki is going for his new chance again and now, more than ever, we need your support for him to come out as a winner this time, too. Going to America is the only chance for him, because European protocols for the treatment of rhabdomyosarcoma are old, weakly effective, and by applying them, Viktor’s chances are one percent,” writes Viktor’s mother, Andrea.

As she says, “she is obliged to add two zeros to that number and to know that, as a parent, she gave her maximum, and the rest is up to God.”

“I would never forgive myself if money were the reason we didn’t try everything. The initial figure without surgery and chemotherapy is $277,000, and we will get the final one after the evaluation and diagnostics in the first week. We were told that it could even reach $1,000,000, if not more,” Viktor’s mother explains.

“While the words of one doctor are ringing in my head: ‘I’m sorry, this is now palliative care, it’s a matter of a few weeks to a few months, make him happy and do everything for him to enjoy those days,’ I choose to believe that Viki is that defiance of life that will win. That this call from America came as a message that there is no giving up. That is why I am asking all who have believed in Viki so far not to give up, to help, to support, and together we will be witnesses to that miracle and the life that I believe is ahead of him!”

Let’s recall, Viktor, in addition to cerebral palsy, with which he has been fighting since birth, at the age of 14, he fell ill with rhabdomyosarcoma, a very aggressive and rare tumor, which occurs in an average of one out of a million children.

Viktor had no symptoms of the primary tumor, and the first symptoms appeared in the fourth stage when the disease was discovered. In addition to the primary tumor in the pelvis, the disease spread to the lungs, bones, and lymph nodes.

Let’s help Viktor come out as a winner in this fight and become, as his mother said in an earlier statement for “Blic,” the first soccer player with cerebral palsy.
