US President Donald Trump was asked by reporters yesterday what intelligence he possessed indicating that Iran is building nuclear weapons, especially since his own intelligence service had previously stated they had no such evidence.
“Well, then my intelligence service is wrong. Who in the intelligence service said that?” Trump questioned, as reported by BBC. The reporter replied that it was the Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard.
“She’s wrong,” Trump quickly responded.
In March, Gabbard told Congress that US intelligence agencies had determined that Iran had not resumed its halted nuclear weapons program from 2003, even as the country’s stockpile of enriched uranium – a component of such weapons – was at a record high.
