Police in Chicago are conducting an investigation after the bodies of three people, including two children, were pulled from Lake Michigan on the city’s south side on Saturday.
According to initial information, the deaths are related and may have stemmed from a family conflict, police announced.
The first body, a baby girl, was found at around 11:23 a.m. in the 5700 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive, near the beach on 57th Street. The girl was pulled from the water and pronounced dead at the scene.
Later in the day, near the beach on 63rd Street, at around 2:23 p.m., the bodies of a six-year-old boy and a 31-year-old woman were also pulled from the water. Both were also pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the victims has not yet been confirmed, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office announced.
Police stated that they are not currently searching for suspects, and the investigation is ongoing and autopsy results are awaited.
