Saint Thomas became famous during his lifetime for many miracles. He preached Christianity in India, where he established a church and installed priests and bishops. Many people there accepted the Christian faith by following him. It is recorded that he was the only apostle who was late for the funeral of the Holy Mother of God. When the tomb was opened at his insistence, it was seen that the body was gone, that she had resurrected and ascended into heaven, thus revealing the miraculous glorification of the Mother of God.
