The capital finally breathed a sigh of relief after an hours-long drama that resembled the darkest film scenarios.
Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in a lightning-fast action, put handcuffs on Tihomir Krstić (44), a man whose name since yesterday has been synonymous with madness and brutality. He was arrested in Rakovica, on Pilota Mihajila Petrovića Street.

Did the knife break on the bones?
Details of the injuries that arrived this morning from the Emergency Center confirm that Krstić acted with incomprehensible aggression. According to official data, the unfortunate woman suffered as many as seven stab wounds, and each of them was potentially fatal:
However, what shocked even the most experienced investigators was the force with which the attacker swung. S. Ć. was found to have fractures of the shoulder blade and ribs caused directly by stabs and blows. Unofficially, the knife blade broke during the attack, and the thicker winter jacket the victim was wearing is the only reason why the blade did not penetrate even deeper into the heart and lungs.
How the fugitive was located and arrested
After the crime, the attacker fled toward Zvezdara, where he was spotted last night wearing a gray hoodie and a black vest. The police immediately activated all resources, and citizens, through social networks and tips, helped reconstruct the escape route.
The drama culminated on Šumatovačka Street in Vračar. Intervention Unit 92 blocked the entire neighborhood, suspecting that the fugitive had hidden in one of the abandoned houses. Around morning, Krstić was cornered and taken into custody without the possibility of offering resistance.

Neighbors from building 199 still cannot come to their senses.
“It sounded like children were chasing each other, and then that horrific wailing started. I went out and saw her sitting in a pool of blood, and the child was just standing next to her, completely stunned. It could have been me, I passed by there ten minutes earlier,” a shaken resident told our portal.
One of the neighbors even clashed with the robber in the hallway, but he, with the bag in his hands, managed to run out of the building and disappear in the direction of the highway.
Condition of the victim and legal consequences
S. Ć. is still in critical but stable condition, while doctors are fighting complications caused by pneumothorax. The three-year-old boy, the only witness to this act of savagery, is under constant supervision by psychologists. The trauma he experienced, watching how “the man butchered his grandma,” will leave indelible scars.
Krstić is charged with – Attempted aggravated murder for gain in a cruel manner and Robbery.
For these crimes, with the aggravating circumstance of an attack on an elderly person in front of a child, the suspect faces a multi-decade prison sentence. He has been ordered detention for up to 48 hours, after which he will be brought before the competent prosecutor’s office.
