The Church of Christ the Savior in Cernica, in Kosovo Pomoravlje in Kosovo and Metohija, was the target of a robbery in the night between Thursday and Friday, after unknown perpetrators stole material needed to maintain the church, as well as money.
Traces of the break-in were noticed by the church host, Milivoje Nisić, who immediately informed the police.
Patrols quickly arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation to determine all the circumstances of this incident.

“This morning I came to the church to prepare for All Souls’ Day. I found a mess. Our chapel was broken into, from which all the tools were taken. There were some dinars, the dinars were left, and small euros were taken,” said Milivoje Nisić, RTV Puls reports.
He pointed out that this is not the first time that the church has been targeted by robbers, recalling similar events in the past.
The police are currently searching for the perpetrators.
Cernica, a multi-ethnic village near Gnjilane, was home to 128 Serbian families with almost 800 inhabitants until 1999.
Today, the number of Serbs in this village has drastically decreased, and only about 130 Serbs live in about 40 houses.
