Oklahoma recorded its sixth consecutive victory since the start of the season, this time defeating Washington 127:108. However, before and after the game, there was much more talk about Nikola Topić than about basketball.
The current champions, led by NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, achieved another victory, with him finishing the game with 31 points, seven assists, and three rebounds.
Even before the game, Mark Daigneault showed how proud he is of Topić and that not everyone could do what he is doing.

But, we are very confident in him as a person, in the prognosis, and in the environment we have around him as we go through this together,” Daigneault said.

Everyone in the locker room emphasized without question that this is for Nikola and that they will be there for him for whatever he needs.
Isaiah Hartenstein once again highlighted how much the team is supporting the young Serbian player.
“The most important thing is to be supportive. He has been with us for the last two years and is a great part of our team. The most important thing for us is to rally around him. That’s what makes our team special,” Hartenstein pointed out.
Isaiah Joe reiterated the messages of support.
“Just being there for him, checking in on him. He’s going through something serious, but as long as he can feel our support, he will know that he is not alone in this. We want to offer him warmth and strength through it all,” Joe said.
