Students, professors, and citizens, who held their “first public address” in front of the Faculty of Law in Belgrade, condemned the police violence repeatedly recorded during and after the protest held on Vidovdan, June 28, stating that the authorities intend to suppress citizens’ dissent through repression.
Students also spoke about the rights of citizens.
During recent protests, the police attacked students and citizens who were in front of the institution, and they also tried to break down the doors and forcibly enter, which is a violation of university autonomy.
A protest was also held in Užice tonight, with a larger one announced for Sunday afternoon.
A protest march took place in Nova Pazova, and several speakers at the rally stated that “the smart ones are no longer silent.”
Prelević: Every Day I Get Wonderful Children Out of Jail
“We must fight for our own country; we’ve been pushed against the wall, and for us, this is an existential issue. Every day I get wonderful children, winners in physics and mathematics, out of jail, while they are pushed into prisons by policemen without names, badges, or numbers. Some strange people, and never before have criminals been dressed in uniforms and allowed to beat up their own future and youth. We must realize how evil this is and tell those who stayed home that they must consider who displaced them—the one who mentioned Karlovac, Karlobag, and Ogulin, which are now the borders of ‘Caciland,’ that retired security service member who calls himself a duke,” said lawyer Božo Prelević at the protest in Nova Pazova.
Professor Jankov: “All Red Lines Crossed, Our Sorrows Unbearable”
“The smart ones are no longer backing down; they are organizing. Neither incompetent cadres, nor party stooges, nor cowardly ministers with criminal reputations—nothing scares us anymore, and nothing stops us,” said Professor Senka Jankov at the rally in Nova Pazova.
“In the hearts of all educators beat the hearts of all our students and former students. And that’s why we were never alone; you, students, farmers, workers, artists, stand with us, because since November last year, we have all been painfully aware that a lack of knowledge and professionalism kills,” Professor Jankov said at the rally in Nova Pazova, adding:
“It kills with stone, earth, and landslides, with polluted air, with corruption. But education saves lives and truth. In eight months, we have shown that fear can be tamed, that truth can be found in bicycles, in the noise of whistles, and in the silence of thousands of hearts. Truth and justice cannot be silenced or hidden even on a national frequency. Therefore, all of us must run this common race of life together, to the end, because all red lines have long been crossed, and our sorrows are unbearable.”
Rally in Užice Concludes: “See You Tomorrow, Serbia, Welcome”
Tonight’s rally in Užice has concluded. As announced, tonight’s protest aimed to show that tension is not easing, that continuity exists, and that the demand for the release of nine fellow citizens from detention will not be abandoned. “See you tomorrow, Serbia, welcome,” the people of Užice called out.

The citizens of Užice who gathered in support of the nine arrested fellow citizens and activists chanted their names tonight and called out, “Release them all.”
Nova Pazova: “Spin the Circle, Change the Course”
Several hundred citizens gathered from 9:00 PM for a blockade in Nova Pazova near the roundabout, which blocks directions to the highway, Stara Pazova, Vojka, and the center of Nova Pazova. The gathering was symbolically named “Spin the Circle, Change the Course.”
Police are present at every entrance and exit of the roundabout. Donations and humanitarian aid are also being collected for Toplica and all those affected by recent fires.
Blockade in Belgrade at the Faculty of Law
The blockade in front of the Faculty of Law has been going on for two hours, and people are slowly dispersing.
Citizens decided to block the intersection around 7 PM, although the students of the Faculty of Law did not call for it.
Valjevo Citizens Organized for Tomorrow’s Protest in Užice
The citizens’ assembly of Valjevo decided to travel together tomorrow to the announced large protest rally in Užice, organized in support of the arrested citizens and activists in that city. The citizens’ assembly of Valjevo will also organize a humanitarian action to collect water and food for the residents of the Žitorađa municipality affected by recent fires.

It was also agreed that in the coming period, blockades and other actions will not be organized every day, but citizens will be informed in a timely manner via social media.
Humanitarian Blockade in Novi Sad
In Novi Sad, a humanitarian blockade began at 6 PM, just like on previous evenings. As reported by an N1 reporter, the atmosphere at the blockade of part of Mihajla Pupina Boulevard and Varadinski Bridge is similar to previous evenings.
The number of stands collecting donations for students, as well as for those affected by fires in Serbia, is slightly smaller than yesterday. The goal, as previously announced, is for foreigners coming to EXIT to hear what has been happening in Serbia over the past eight months.
Tonight, 16 chairs and 16 pairs of shoes were also set up, symbolizing those who died in the railway station canopy collapse.
