A Melbourne, Australia-based blogger who creates reports from her travels, who, during her European adventure, decided quite randomly to take a break in Belgrade, admitted that it was one of the best decisions of her journey, ever!
As Rory explained on her TikTok profile, what started as a random stop turned into an unforgettable experience, where she discovered not only the charms of the city and the kindness of our people but also a unique nightlife that definitely rivals the most famous world metropolises.
“My unpopular opinion about traveling in Europe is that Belgrade is one of the best cities in Europe. And I’ve visited many cities across Europe. This year I was on my second trip to Europe and randomly decided to take a break in Serbia because I wanted to see what Belgrade was like. I heard the nightlife was amazing. I was in the mood to meet people, to have fun, and I had the best time ever. I felt like I was in Berlin. If you love Berlin, you’ll definitely love Belgrade,” she said.
She added that the city itself has its own charm and reminds her of her hometown of Melbourne.
“The city itself is beautiful, picturesque, like most European cities. In the evening, you have to go to a really cool part of the city called Skadarlija. All the restaurants have outdoor gardens, there are many bands, and everything is so lively. Just walking along the cobblestones, you feel fantastic. There are many great cafes, which reminds me of the cafe culture in Melbourne, and that’s a big compliment coming from me, considering I’m from Melbourne,” she explained.
According to her, the nightlife is what makes Belgrade special and why many tourists come to this city. Although she was not immune to the beauty and kindness of the Serbian people.

“The main reason people come to Belgrade is the nightlife. The girls are really beautiful. The men were really kind and approachable. All in all, the atmosphere is great. In the clubs, they have something called splavovi. It’s basically a club on the river and it’s great. The music is fantastic. I hope I convinced you to add Belgrade to your mini tour. The city is amazing, I’m shocked,” Rory concluded. Under the video, many Serbs thanked her for her kind words, while foreigners simply confirmed her impressions, agreeing that Belgrade really has a special charm.
“I’m from Melbourne and I was in Belgrade for 5 months, I just got back. The best 5 months of my life,” wrote one commenter under the video.
