Tomislav Momirović, Anita Dimovski, Nebojša Šurlan and other suspects who were questioned at the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime (POOC), denied guilt in connection with corruption on the project of reconstructing the railway from Novi Sad to Subotica.

Goran Vesić, according to the POOC, was not questioned because medical documentation was submitted stating that he is in hospital treatment. The prosecutor requested that all suspects be remanded in custody.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime announced that the following were questioned at the POOC, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they had committed corrupt criminal acts:

-Tomislav Momirović, former minister in the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure in the period from October 2020 to October 2022
-Anita Dimoski, former acting assistant minister in this ministry and head of the Sector for Railways and Intermodal Transport in the period from November 2020, and who was also the responsible person-mentor in this ministry for monitoring and implementing all activities on the project of the Hungarian-Serbian railway, section Belgrade-Center – Stara Pazova and section Novi Sad – Subotica – state border (Kelebija)
-Nebojša Šurlan, who was the acting general director of the company “Infrastruktura železnice Srbije” a.d. Belgrade from May 2020 to March 2024
-Slobodanka Katanić, who was the investment manager of the company “Infrastruktura železnice Srbije” a.d. Belgrade and project manager for the modernization and reconstruction of the Hungarian-Serbian railway connection Belgrade – Budapest
-Nikola Trivić, a responsible person in the company “Starting” doo from Belgrade
-Siniša Jokić, the former director of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the City of Novi Sad
-Veljko Novaković, public procurement officer of this institute
-Nenad Ignjatović, a responsible person and owner of the company “Deko tim” doo from Beška
-Ivana Popović, a responsible person of the company “Prima Idea” doo (who was subsequently brought in)
-Aleksandar Cvjetković, director and responsible person of the Youth Cooperative “Menadžer”
-Dragan Popović, a responsible person of the company “DP Metal prom 2020” doo
-Zoran Mijajlović, founder and responsible person in the companies “Pro+Service Centre” doo and “Bambino shoes” doo

All the suspects denied guilt and used their legal right to defend themselves by remaining silent, except for Veljko Novaković, who gave a defense.

The suspect Goran Vesić, according to the POOC, was not questioned before the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime, because medical documentation was submitted stating that he is in hospital treatment.

The Public Prosecutor for Organized Crime proposed to the judge for the preliminary procedure of the High Court in Belgrade, Special Department for Organized Crime, that Goran Rosić, the responsible person of “Teco” doo, who actually manages the companies “Zevas” doo, “Pro+Service Centre” doo and “Bambino shoes” doo, be remanded in custody and a warrant be issued.

The Public Prosecutor for Organized Crime issued an order to conduct an investigation against all the suspects and proposed to the judge for the preliminary procedure of the High Court in Belgrade, Special Department for Organized Crime, that all the suspects be remanded in custody.
