The Jovan Jovanović Zmaj High School in Novi Sad has been blockaded since this morning. Among other demands, students are asking the school director to publicly apologize to students and teachers and to retract his public apology to Prime Minister Miloš Vučević.
Since around 7 a.m., students have been blocking the entrance to the Jovan Jovanović Zmaj High School. They are not allowing anyone to enter the school building.
Their demands, as reported by 021.rs, are that the school director publicly apologize to students and teachers, publicly retract the apology he made to Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, and allow students to leave the school for 15 minutes every Friday to pay their respects to the victims of the railway station tragedy, without consequences.

Director Kneels in Front of the School
While students are blocking the entrance to the school, school director Radivoje P. Stojković is kneeling and, apparently, praying.
As a reminder, the story related to the Jovan Jovanović Zmaj High School started when Vučević recently stated that “teachers at that school practically forced his son to leave the school with his friends to protest” on November 29th.

Subsequently, Kreni-promeni announced that the director of the Jovan Jovanović Zmaj High School had issued an order for teachers to submit written statements about their activities at 11:52 a.m. and whether they had taken children outside at that time. This request came after teachers and students, along with citizens, paid their respects to the victims of the tragedy at the Novi Sad Railway Station.

“Today’s creation of lists of the unsuitable in Jovan Jovanović Zmaj High School, where teachers become objects of political pressure simply because they dared to express sympathy and pay dignified tribute to the victims, clearly shows a comprehensive attempt by the authorities to intimidate and silence anyone who seeks justice for the victims,” said Stevan Babić, president of the Kreni-promeni council group in the Novi Sad Assembly at the time.
