Emirates Airlines announced that all flights to and from Dubai have been suspended until further notice. In a dramatic post on X, the company urged passengers not to come to the airport. This drastic measure follows a powerful explosion near the terminal, as tensions and airstrikes in the Middle East reach a boiling point.
On Saturday, a strong explosion was heard above Dubai International Airport (DXB), followed by a large smoke cloud in the sky, eyewitnesses told AFP. Dubai’s media office described the event as a “minor incident caused by debris from intercepted missiles,” reported the Indian publication The Economic Times.
Flight tracking platforms, such as Flightradar24, recorded a tense situation in which planes circled over the city for hours in a holding pattern, waiting for landing clearance before the airspace over the Emirates was completely closed.

Emergency warning from Emirates: “Do not come to the terminals!”
“The safety of our passengers and crew is our absolute priority and there will be no compromise on this,” Emirates officially stated.
In recent days, the airline had managed to operate a limited number of flights from Dubai and Abu Dhabi exclusively through temporary and safe air corridors, but further escalation forced management to suspend all operations.
Passengers were strictly instructed not to go to the airport unless they have direct confirmation. All passengers affected by this disruption (with bookings up to March 31) will receive flexible options, including refunds or free flight changes for dates before April 30.
