The Third Belgrade Gymnasium has entered a 24-hour blockade, and senior student Stefan Marković stated that this act is a sign of solidarity with educators, emphasizing that various actions can be expected throughout April.
At an extraordinary plenary session of the students of the Third Belgrade Gymnasium, a decision was made by an absolute majority vote to begin a 24-hour blockade by occupying the premises of the Great School, starting on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, according to an official statement.
“We were driven by the reduction in February salaries for educators who participated in the strike or in the suspension of classes, as well as by solidarity with the faculty of the Third, who, it seems to me, remain steadfast in their work stoppage. A great energy could be felt. The decision to transition to a 24-hour blockade was made at a plenary session of delegates from virtually all Belgrade gymnasiums and vocational high schools that have suspended classes. This agreement represents a form of radicalization,” said the senior student in a statement to N1.
The students are appealing to citizens for donations, including basic necessities such as cooked food, snacks, juices, and similar supplies.
