All Serbian and Balkan immigrants in America were shaken this morning by the news of a tragic accident in the state of Georgia, in which Aleksandar Conić (34) from Chicago lost his life. He was killed behind the wheel of a truck on Interstate I-75 in Georgia.

The young Serb, originally from Leskovac, died while doing the job that supported him and his family, and behind him he left a wife with two small children, two sons. He had lived in America for almost 10 years, and in Serbia he graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education (DIF).

His family in Serbia and friends in Chicago are in shock, no one can believe that Aleksandar is gone. And whoever you ask in the Serbian community, people have only words of praise for him. A wonderful young man. Gentle, calm, polite – that is how he will be remembered.

The police investigation is still ongoing and for now the circumstances under which Conić was killed in Georgia have not yet been clarified. At the scene of the accident, according to eyewitnesses, there were many fire trucks, police officers and ambulances.

For the family of Aleksandar Conić, his job was the only source of income, and therefore his wife and children urgently need assistance in order to secure basic living conditions.

We ask our readers to follow the announcements of our portal Serbian Times, and we will soon publish a link from the GoFundMe platform, through which you will be able to donate and help the family of the tragically deceased young man.
