The search for a girl from Vrnjačka Banja, who drowned yesterday near Cape Veslo on Luštica, continued this morning.

The tragedy occurred around 3 p.m. when the girl from Serbia was taking photos with a friend on one of the rocks.

A Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) helicopter was engaged in the search for the girl through OKC 112 because the terrain is inaccessible and the most difficult for a search in Montenegro, RTCG was told by the Maritime Safety and Port Management Authority (UPSUL).

This morning, a comprehensive search operation for the missing girl was launched in Traste Bay, coordinated by UPSUL.

The MUP helicopter engaged through OKC 112 is already circling the area where the girl from Serbia drowned yesterday.

In a video provided to us by the RTCG portal, a helicopter can be seen circling above the sea, while boats are also in the water.

Divers from the RCUD Bijela will also board the SAR-1 boat and will search the underwater area, UPSUL announced.

In addition, the Luštica Bay emergency response team is providing support in the search and at the marina for the manipulation of rescuers.

UPSUL rescue scooters, drones, and all available resources will also join the search.

Divers and officers of the Maritime Unit unsuccessfully tried to find and retrieve the body of the girl from Serbia who fell into the water near Cape Veslo on Luštica yesterday.

At that moment, it is believed, the turbulent sea and waves pulled the girl under.

Police and diving teams spotted the girl’s body floating at one point, but bad weather conditions and waves made it impossible for them to approach. The operation to retrieve the body continued this morning.
