An unknown middle-aged individual attacked Serbian journalist Natalija Miletić in Berlin, inflicting severe bodily injuries. The attack occurred in the evening, and several passers-by remained silent as she cried for help.
Serbian journalist Natalija Miletić, who has lived and worked in Berlin for years, was brutally attacked on June 9 in the Prenzlauer Berg district while riding her bicycle. An unknown middle-aged person grabbed her bicycle handlebars, accusing her of riding on the sidewalk, then hurled a string of xenophobic insults, shouting “fing foreigners!*” reports Vreme.
Miletić was knocked onto the asphalt and sustained severe bodily injuries – a fractured lower leg and a broken hand. Although, as she states, she was in great pain and called for help, several passers-by walked by and chose not to intervene.
“It was humiliating. It was inhumane,” Miletić wrote in her social media post from her hospital bed, where she awaits two more surgeries.
