Police in Kraljevo have arrested M.M. (28) from Novi Sad, on suspicion of planning an assassination in that city, “Novosti” reports.
He was handcuffed after security at a pool in Kraljevo noticed a man with a balaclava and a pistol and immediately informed the police.
“He was arrested while trying to escape on a motorcycle from the police, who arrived at lightning speed. While attempting to flee, he fell off his motorcycle,” a “Novosti” source states.
According to this media outlet, the motorcycle used by the suspect in the attempted murder had previously been stolen in Belgrade and bore fake license plates. Police officers seized a pistol and an encrypted phone. He also had a bag with a change of clothes. The target of the arrested individual at the pool is still being determined.
“He had a bullet in the chamber, and he also carried a bag with spare clothes, which he probably planned to put on after committing the crime,” states the “Novosti” source.
The arrested individual is already known to the police.
According to media reports, in 2024, he was arrested in Novi Sad in a hostel with a firearm. This year, he is suspected of throwing a Molotov cocktail at Kristina Končar’s house and, according to operational information, is linked to the Kavač clan.
