The public company “Roads of Serbia” denied on Wednesday that lists of closed and alternative routes until November 10th were published, according to which the roads to Novi Sad, where a large commemorative gathering will be held on November 1st on the anniversary of the collapse of the canopy at the Railway Station, will be closed to traffic.
Previously, on Tuesday, a statement appeared on the website of the public company “Roads of Serbia” which contained what is now being denied.
The statement from the previous day has been removed from the website.
The public company “Roads of Serbia” now states in the announcement that traffic from Belgrade to Novi Sad is running normally and that the routes towards Novi Sad will not be closed, reports the 021 portal.
It was stated that in the area of rehabilitation works on the Belgrade interchange, on the directions Novi Sad – Niš/Čačak and Niš/Čačak – Novi Sad, two traffic lanes will be provided for each direction and there will be no suspension of traffic.
In the area of the Belgrade interchange in the direction Šid – Novi Sad, the parallel ramp will be closed to traffic, but three alternative routes can be taken: Ikarbus interchange – Belgrade interchange – Novi Sad, Belgrade interchange – Surčin interchange – Novi Sad, and Surčin South interchange – Surčin 1 interchange – Belgrade interchange – Novi Sad.
All toll booths will be functional.
In the previous statement from Tuesday, “Roads of Serbia” also listed alternative routes that mostly lead through Surčin or Batajnica.
The reason given for closing the roads during that period was “road rehabilitation works.”
Nevertheless, due to the large number of people who announced their trip to Novi Sad on November 1st, it would not hurt for citizens to head to that city in time.
