Volunteer rescuers, who today helped care for five Serbs who were injured in an explosion near Thessaloniki, spoke out and revealed the health condition of the injured.
As they stated, at 3 p.m., an explosion occurred in the house where tourists from Serbia were staying in Asprovalta.
-In the explosion, four people were injured by broken glass, while one man suffered severe burns on several parts of his body. Our team arrived at the scene in just three minutes and immediately provided first aid to the injured, including the person with burns.
Shortly after, the EKAB ambulance arrived at the scene, which took the person with burns for hospitalization. EKAB’s reaction was fast and efficient. We sincerely wish a speedy recovery to all the injured and their soonest return to everyday life – wrote the volunteer rescuers: Hristos Tialiakas, Stella Salepi, Nikolas Mitakos and Kristina Traiku.
According to initial reports, the accident occurred under still unexplained circumstances around 3 p.m. Ambulances from the National Emergency Center (EKAV) quickly arrived at the scene and transported the five injured to the Health Center.
The police arrested the owner of the accommodation, an 86-year-old woman.
The investigation is ongoing.
