Following a call from students blocking the Faculty of Agriculture, a group of students in blockade and citizens gathered today in front of the “29. novembar” Police Station, where they suspect those accused of attacking student Miloš Pavlović and his colleagues in Studentski Grad on Wednesday evening will be questioned.

The gathered crowd is demanding the release of the attack suspects, shouting “Pump it up!” and “Release them!”

A group of students in blockade and citizens has been in front of the New Belgrade Police Station since this morning, where they also gathered last night, as they presume some of the arrested individuals are there.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced on Thursday that a total of 18 people have been arrested on suspicion of attacking Miloš Pavlović and other students who wish to study in Studentski Grad.

Students who wish to study, including Miloš Pavlović, Vladimir Balać, and Luka Lalošević, were attacked on Wednesday evening in Studentski Grad, after which they were transferred to the Emergency Center where they allegedly received assistance.

The Third Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade announced that a detention order for up to 48 hours was issued for three individuals due to violent behavior, one of whom is suspected of inciting the criminal act, and they are to be questioned by the prosecution within that period.

The prosecution announced on Thursday that police officers were ordered to identify all participants in the incident, and in addition to the three whose detention was ordered, the identities of 15 more individuals were established, who will also be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dačić stated last night that members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have obtained certain recordings indicating that the attack on Pavlović and his colleagues was planned and organized.

Regarding last night’s protest in front of the police station in New Belgrade, Dačić said that he does not understand its purpose, as it protests against police action to arrest people who committed violence against others with whom they do not share political beliefs.

“This is an act endangering the safety and lives of other people, but these protests certainly will not have an impact. The police are doing their job,” Dačić stated.
