POWERFUL EXPLOSION IN ZEMUN: A bomb thrown at a fitness club, all windows shattered by the blast!

Residents of Pregrevica Street in Zemun were disturbed early this morning, around 03:30 a.m., by a powerful detonation when, for now, an unknown person threw a hand grenade at the premises of a local fitness club.

According to unofficial information from the scene, the attacker did not just activate the device in front of the building, but threw the bomb directly through a window into the interior of the gym. The goal was clearly to cause maximum material damage inside the workout area.

All protective glass on the building shattered due to the force of the blast, and the interior of the club was significantly damaged.

Damaged vehicles and material damage

The detonation was so strong that shrapnel flew dozens of meters around. The aftermath of the attack includes four heavily damaged cars that were parked directly in front of the entrance to the fitness center. Visible damage can be seen on the bodywork of the vehicles, while the windows on some cars are completely smashed.

It exploded like in a war. The only good thing in this misfortune is that it all happened in the dead of night, so there were no passersby or people exercising in the club, otherwise we could have had a tragedy – said one of the residents of Pregrevica Street for our portal.

Police investigation underway

Members of the Ministry of Interior immediately went to the scene after the report and blocked this part of Zemun. Footage from the security cameras of the fitness club, as well as nearby buildings, has been taken in order to track down the attacker.

The motive for the attack remains unknown for now, and the investigation should determine whether it was a warning or a settling of scores.
