Several hundred believers from Kosovo and Metohija, as well as from Belgrade and Montenegro, attended the Easter Divine Liturgy celebrated by Patriarch Porfirije at the Peć Patriarchate.
The head of the Serbian Orthodox Church sent a message of love and peace from the seat of the Serbian Patriarchs, emphasizing that today is a day to also tell those who hate us that they are our brothers, and that through Christ’s resurrection, we forgive one another.
“We cannot exist without each other, regardless of how or in which manner we pray to God and where we were born. Whether someone is famous, well-known, or unknown, whether educated or uneducated, in our risen Lord, we are all one. Therefore, it is through His resurrection that we should look at and observe each other, and then it will surely be joy that defines our life,” said the Serbian Patriarch in his sermon.
In the courtyard of the Peć Patriarchate, His Holiness presented one hundred annual scholarships to students from Kosovo and Metohija, funded by the Sime Andrejević Iguman Foundation.
The feast was also congratulated by the Mayor of Peć, Gazmen Muhadžeri, who visited the monastery with an official municipal delegation.
