PARTIZAN IS THE CHAMPION OF SERBIA: Black and Whites secure 22nd title in domestic league with win over Spartak!

Partizan basketball players have won their 22nd title in the domestic championship, defeating Spartak 79:92 (19:24, 26:20, 27:17, 18:21) in the second game of the Serbian Basketball League playoff finals.

This marks Partizan’s first domestic championship trophy since 2014, and the 51st in the history of the club from Humska.

The game in the packed “Dudova Šuma” arena was decided in the third quarter, when the black and whites played more aggressively in defense, while in offense, Dwayne Washington’s scoring run gave his team their first double-digit lead (69:58).

Spartak started the game better thanks to Gordić’s excellent assists and Miletić’s dominance under the basket, as well as very good defense.

However, the visitors found a solution to Spartak’s tactics in the second quarter, primarily with the entry of Aleksej Pokuševski, who played excellently under the basket, and Arijan Lakić, who hit three three-pointers and played brilliantly defensively.

At the beginning of the third period, the black and whites first reached their largest lead of six points, which they then increased to their biggest lead of 11 points. At that moment, Mike joined Washington with several important points.

Despite Spartak changing their defense on Washington, the American continued to fill the opponent’s basket, scoring a total of 41 points. Eight minutes before the end, his team led 78:61, and Partizan gained its largest lead of 19 points (82:61) two minutes later.

Although Spartak had time to catch up, the home team made many mistakes, and Partizan calmly brought the game to an end without excitement.
