Partizan basketball players are the new ABA League champions after defeating Budućnost in the fourth game of the ABA League finals with a score of 90:75.
The game started similarly to the previous one – very tough basketball with measured offensive decisions, so the highest quality basketball wasn’t immediately seen.
However, that didn’t last forever, as the teams eventually loosened up. The first quarter ended in a tie, 26:26, which was the most realistic and logical outcome.
Still, what was seen in the first period foreshadowed a turning point for the rest of the match, as McKinley Wright was carried off the court after only two minutes of basketball.

He landed on Sterling Brown’s foot while shooting a three-pointer and thus re-injured his ankle. Budućnost got three free throws after that, but they lost their leader for the rest of the game.
However, the bizarre events didn’t end there, as only 48 seconds after the start of the third quarter, Isaiah Mike had to leave the court early, having committed three fouls in such a short period, making it too risky to stay on the court.
A problem also occurred when Karlik Jones committed his third personal foul at the end of the second period, so Partizan had to combine other lineups, which further complicated Željko Obradović’s job.

Nevertheless, Partizan was better in that second quarter, winning it 22:18 and going into halftime with a significant four-point lead and a cooler head than their very spirited rival.
The game resumed after the big break, and the Partizan team started furiously! In just 80 seconds, they created a large lead and forced the Budućnost team into a series of bad attacks, where they couldn’t find a solution within 24 seconds even twice.
Soon, the black and whites extended their lead to double digits, and at one point, they reached a 16-point advantage, which was maintained until the end of the quarter, making it +11 before the last 10 minutes.
