Serbian citizens will now be able to travel to Venezuela without visas, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

Following the entry into force of the visa-free agreement between the two countries, Serbian citizens, both with diplomatic and official passports, as well as with ordinary passports and other travel documents, do not need a visa for stays in Venezuela of up to 90 days. However, a visa is required for holders of a temporary travel document in transit.
Travelers are advised by the Ministry to get vaccinated against infectious diseases such as typhoid fever, yellow fever, hepatitis, and cholera before arriving.

“During their stay in this country, it is recommended to use bottled water. The current health situation in this country can be found on the website of the World Health Organization,” the statement said.

Regarding security risks in Venezuela, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that the security situation in Caracas and tourist centers is good, with usual precautions for large urban and tourist centers.

Public transport within Venezuela is generally safe and well-organized, with domestic flights and a developed road network that, as they point out, is not well maintained due to years of economic stagnation in the country.

Bus transport is of poor quality, and there is no passenger rail transport. Due to long distances and road conditions, air travel is recommended for movement within the country.
During a tourist stay, Serbian tourists can drive a motor vehicle with a Serbian driver’s license, the statement says.

The local currency is the bolivar, while the US dollar is the most sought-after foreign currency.

“One should avoid carrying euros, British pounds, or other currencies, as most exchange offices will not accept them,” the ministry recommends, noting that credit cards, including credit cards issued by Serbian banks for use abroad, can be used for payment in tourist areas.

During their stay in Venezuela, Serbian citizens can contact the Embassy of Serbia in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for consular assistance and protection via contact phone: +584242729098, or via email: srb.emb.venezuela@mfa.rs.
