The President of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, announced that the request of so-called Kosovo for special guest status has been removed from the agenda of the Political Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
At the start of the Serbian Parliament session, Brnabić emphasized that Serbia had achieved what she described as “a small but significant victory.”
“I want to inform you of something important—one small, but significant victory for Serbia. I have just spoken with the head of our delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Biljana Pantić Pilja, who informed me that we have succeeded in removing the request of the so-called fake Republic of Kosovo to be a special guest at the Political Committee from the agenda,” Brnabić stated.
She expressed great gratitude to the Serbian delegation and its leader for what she called a great fight.
“It is no longer even on the agenda. There won’t even be a vote on it. That’s how you fight for Serbia. Great gratitude to our friends from Spain, great gratitude to all our friends who supported us, so that we had the majority needed to remove this item from the Political Committee’s agenda at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe,” Brnabić said.

In Paris, the meeting of the Political Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is ongoing, and the fifth agenda item was the proposal for so-called Kosovo to be granted special guest status.
A total of 21 committee members voted in favor of Serbia’s proposal to remove Priština’s request from the agenda, while 10 voted against.
The authorities in Priština had sent a letter in late November last year, requesting special guest status in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
PACE had recommended last year that so-called Kosovo be admitted to the Council of Europe, but that attempt at membership ultimately failed.
