Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković was physically attacked on the street in Belgrade, RTS learns.
Minister Selaković is seeing a doctor for his injuries and their degree is currently being determined, after which he will go to the police and file a report. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić confirmed that Selaković was attacked.
Couple of hours later, the police have arrested the attacker of Minister Nikola Selaković. The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office has ordered his detention for up to 48 hours.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dačić stated that members of the Criminal Police Directorate, the Crime Suppression Service, following an order from the First Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, found and arrested the attacker of Minister Nikola Selaković in his apartment.
“Members of the Criminal Police Directorate, the Crime Suppression Service, following an order from the First Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, found and arrested the attacker of Minister Nikola Selaković in his apartment, a person identified as M.T. (born 1985) from Belgrade, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of endangering safety.
In his apartment, which is near the location where the attack on Minister Selaković took place last night, clothing he was wearing at the time was found.
The suspect will be detained for up to 48 hours and, along with a criminal complaint, will be brought before the competent prosecutor’s office,” Minister Dačić stated, according to the MUP announcement.
