A man, Lj. M. (1988), was arrested today on the charge of participating in an attack on KFOR and Kosovo Police members in Zvečan in May 2023.
The Kosovo Special Prosecutor’s Office states that the arrest was preceded by a months-long investigation, and he has been detained for 48 hours. Lj. M. from Zvečan is suspected of criminal offenses: conspiracy to commit unconstitutional activities, endangering persons under international protection, participation in a crowd committing a criminal offense and hooliganism, as well as an attack on an official person.
During the search of his apartment, “material evidence was found that confirms the incriminated actions of the suspect,” the prosecutor’s office told KoSSev.
The prosecutor’s office statement did not provide details about the event itself for which this person is charged, including the time and place of the event, reports Kossev.
According to the KoSSev portal, these are incidents that occurred in Zvečan at the end of May 2023.
At that time, there was a conflict between the gathered citizens and KFOR members, and everything was preceded by the actions of the Kosovo Police special units, which used force to escort Albanian mayors into municipal buildings in three municipalities in the North.
