In a major anti-corruption operation that began this morning in the capital, businessman Aleksandar Papić was also arrested by order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade in connection with the siphoning of money from JP EPS, Euronews Serbia reports.
As a reminder, it was also reported earlier this morning that the president of the municipality of Obrenovac, Milorad Grčić, was also arrested by order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The arrest operation is still ongoing, and members of the police, in addition to Grčić, have arrested about ten more people.
According to RTS, Papić is the de facto owner of a company that received rigged tenders for JP EPS in agreement with Grčić, the still current mayor of Obrenovac.
