American journalists are predicting a big summer for Denver in the “transfer window” and are leaving open the possibility that Serbian small forward Nikola Jović (22 years old, 208 centimeters) could move to the Nuggets.

The Miami small forward could become a teammate of Nikola Jokić, the best player in the world, and there are several conditions for this.

The first and most important condition is that the Nuggets part ways with the player who underperformed the most this season, Michael Porter Jr. Although he played with a shoulder injury, his shooting was disastrous, and he was the least reliable option for David Adelman’s team in the fight for the title.

How could Denver send Michael Porter to Miami and receive Jović in return? This would be feasible in a three-team trade, which would involve these movements:

  • Atlanta Hawks would get Peyton Watson from Denver and Jaime Jaquez from Miami.
  • Denver Nuggets would get Andrew Wiggins and Nikola Jović from Miami.
  • Miami would get Michael Porter from Denver and Dominick Barlow from Atlanta.

What Would Denver Gain?

The proposed trade would bring Denver the “depth” it currently lacks, as it would be stronger with two reliable players: Canadian Andrew Wiggins (30), the first “pick” from the 2014 NBA draft and a Serbian national team player who averaged 10.7 points and 3.9 rebounds last season.

On the other hand, the Nuggets would get rid of a player who has become more of a burden than a help to the team – Michael Porter (26).

“Michael Porter Jr. helped the Denver Nuggets win a title two years ago, but he could be moved to allow the Nuggets to try and bring in more reinforcements. With his contract ($38.3 million for next season, and $40 million for 2026/27), his injury history, and poor defensive play, who would want to trade for him? Denver would have to add more ‘attachments’ to send along with him,” “Sports Illustrated” stated.

Why Would Miami Want This Trade?

According to American journalists, Porter would contribute to the Florida team’s offense and bring greater shooting power. Wiggins’ $109 million contract enters its final year next summer, when he will have the option to extend it himself, and neither Jović nor Jaquez have proven they can be primary players alongside Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro.

There are many combinations, but in America, there’s a consensus that it will be very interesting to follow what happens in Denver during the “offseason.”

“It will be fascinating to follow Denver this summer. After firing coach Michael Malone and general manager Calvin Booth, Denver went further in the playoffs than anyone could have predicted and took Oklahoma to a decisive game. However, it was obvious that this Denver team lacks depth around Nikola Jokić, has limited capacities to offer on the market, but does have Michael Porter Jr. and two first-round picks,” is the conclusion of the Americans, who are announcing a turbulent summer in Denver.
