The Denver Nuggets suffered a dramatic loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves (119-116) and now hold a 2-3 record in the NBA. Nikola Jokic couldn’t lead the Nuggets to victory despite finishing with 26 points, 13 assists, and nine rebounds. Jokic shot 8/16 from the field, 2/3 from three, and 8/10 from the free-throw line. He also added three steals, one block, and three turnovers.
His missed three-pointer in the final moments of the game would have forced overtime.

The Nuggets held a 10-point lead with about three and a half minutes remaining, but the home team went on a 15-2 run to seal the victory. Denver held a lead in the final minute, but Anthony Edwards hit a jumper to give the Timberwolves the lead. Christian Braun and Aaron Gordon then missed shots, and Rudy Gober sealed the win with free throws.
For the Nuggets, only Gordon was more effective than Jokic with 31 points and 11 rebounds, while Michael Porter Jr. also scored 26 points, along with six rebounds. For the Timberwolves, Edwards led the way with 29 points, Julius Randle added 23 points, seven assists, and six rebounds, Gober had 17 points and 14 rebounds, and Naz Reid contributed 16 points.
Minnesota now has a 3-2 record and will next face San Antonio. The Nuggets will host the Utah Jazz on Sunday at 3:00 AM.
