Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Criminal Police Directorate, Crime Suppression Service, Counter-Terrorism Service, and police administrations in Užice, Čačak, and Kragujevac, in cooperation with the Security Intelligence Agency, and by order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, arrested six people at several locations across Serbia. They are suspected of having committed the criminal offense of preparing acts against the constitutional order and security of Serbia, in connection with the criminal offense of inciting violent change of the constitutional order.
Those arrested are I. M. (48), N. A. (47), V. K. (55), A. I. (49), S. G. (52), and B. M. (57).
It is suspected that on June 21, they met in a hotel in Kraljevo with the aim of planning a violent change of government in the Republic of Serbia. They allegedly conspired to attack representatives of state institutions, physically assault police officers with the aim of disarming them, and violently break into the building of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and other institutions, as well as media houses such as Radio Television of Serbia, “Happy,” and “Informer,” all with the announcement that they would use firearms.
A criminal complaint will also be filed against I. M. for the suspected criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession, carrying, and trafficking of firearms and explosive devices.
In a “Škoda” car driven by the suspect I. M. on the way to Požega, police found a pistol with a filed serial number, a magazine containing seven rounds, and a factory box with 25 pieces of corresponding ammunition, which he illegally possessed without permits from the competent authorities.
A crossbow was found with the arrested V. K.
The suspects have been detained for up to 48 hours, after which they will be brought before the competent prosecutor’s office with criminal charges.
Searches are currently underway at several locations in the Republic of Serbia, and in cooperation with the competent authorities, the police continue to work on this case.
Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office released a statement after the arrests
By order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, a total of six individuals were arrested today on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of preparing acts against the constitutional order and security of Serbia under Article 320, in connection with Article 309 of the Criminal Code, the HPO announced.
The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Security Intelligence Agency, continues its work on uncovering all potential attempts to violently overthrow the constitutional order.
“Today, in a joint action by the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, the MUP RS, and the BIA, I. M. (48), N. A. (47), V. K. (55), A. I. (49), S. G. (52), and B. M. (57) were arrested,” the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade announced.
As previously stated, there are grounds to suspect that the aforementioned suspects held a meeting on June 21, 2025, in a hotel in Kraljevo and planned a violent change of government in the Republic of Serbia.
“Specifically, they agreed not to return home until they ‘killed or destroyed’ representatives of state institutions, announced the use of firearms, conspired to attack police officers with the aim of disarming them, and violently invade the building of the Government of RS and other institutions, as well as media houses Radio Television of Serbia, ‘Happy,’ and ‘Informer’,” the HPO statement reads.
I.M. was arrested in Gugalj, on the way to Požega.
As announced by the HPO in Belgrade, in the “Škoda” vehicle he was driving, a CZ 765 pistol with a filed serial number, with a magazine containing 7 rounds and a factory box with 25 pieces of corresponding ammunition, was found in a bag.
With the criminal complaint, I.M. will also be charged with the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession, carrying, and trafficking of firearms and explosive devices under Article 348 of the Criminal Code. A.I. was arrested in Bogovađa, N.A. and B.M. were arrested in Kragujevac, V. K. in Belgrade, and S.G. in Kragujevac.
The suspects will be brought for questioning at the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade within 48 hours.
