A man (39) from Milwaukee has been charged with the murder of a woman whom, as the prosecution claims, he killed in the apartment where they lived, and then sent messages to her child before police officers arrived at the scene of the crime, Fox6 reports.
On Thursday, February 5, police were called to an address on West National Avenue after one of the children reported alarming messages they had received. Upon arrival, they found 44-year-old Amanda Varisco without signs of life, with multiple stab wounds on her body.
The suspect, Mile Dukić (39), is charged with first-degree murder and the felony of bail jumping. According to the prosecution’s allegations, he admitted to the police that he killed the woman and that he then sent a message to her daughter in which he wrote that he had killed her and explained the reason.
The investigation showed that the fight occurred after Amanda’s phone allegedly rang, which led to an argument. Dukić told the police that he hit her several times before killing her with a knife.
The medical report showed at least 22 stab wounds on the victim’s body. The suspect has open cases due to previous bail jumping and harassment, the indictment states.
Dukić will appear in court on Tuesday, and the victim’s family has launched a fundraiser for the funeral.
