First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, has issued a legal warning to Hunter Biden, the son of former President Joe Biden, announcing a potential lawsuit for more than a billion dollars. The warning is in response to what she claims are “false” and “defamatory” statements he made publicly. The disputed claims involve linking Melania to financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of sexual abuse of minors, “Fox News” reports.
According to a letter signed by her lawyer, Alejandro Brito, on August 5, Biden posted a video on YouTube titled “Hunter Biden is Back,” in which he stated that “Epstein introduced Melania to Trump” and that their “ties ran wide and deep.” The letter emphasizes that these claims are untrue and damaging to the First Lady’s reputation.
The lawyer demanded that Biden publicly retract his statements and apologize by 5 p.m. Eastern Time on August 7, warning that if he fails to do so, a lawsuit seeking more than a billion dollars in damages will be filed.
According to the AP, Melania and Donald Trump have repeatedly stated that they were introduced by fashion agent Paolo Zampolli at a party in New York in 1998, not by Epstein.
This is not the first time the First Lady’s team has reacted to similar allegations. After previous media reports that used claims from author Michael Wolff, the “Daily Beast” portal retracted the article, and political strategist James Carville publicly apologized and removed the controversial parts of his podcast.
According to American media, there has been no response yet from Hunter Biden’s legal team to these accusations.
