Two girls aged 22 and 19 were detained for stealing a bus from the parking lot of a well-known private company in Obrenovac, Telegraf.rs has learned.
They are suspected of having stolen the bus yesterday, which was found this morning around four o’clock overturned in a ditch in the village of Piroman near Obrenovac.
According to Telegraf’s findings, the arrested girls have been charged with the criminal offense of unauthorized use of another person’s vehicle, which carries a fine or a prison sentence of up to three years, and if the unauthorized use of the vehicle occurred through breaking in or forced entry into the vehicle, the sentence can range from six months to five years in prison, along with an additional fine.
Both girls were released after questioning, and a criminal complaint was filed against them in regular proceedings.
As Telegraf.rs previously reported, the police spoke with the owner of the bus, who reported that the vehicle was missing from the parking lot.
Police officers responded to the report and went to the scene, where they conducted an investigation and collected evidence that could help identify the perpetrators. An intensive search is underway for persons connected to this case.
The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Obrenovac has also been notified of the incident.
