Miomir Kecmanović, a Serbian tennis player, defeated Marcos Giron 2:1, in sets 6:2, 6:7 (2), 7:6 (9), in the first round of Munich.
The match lasted almost three hours, and Kecmanović defeated the 45th-ranked tennis player in the world, who is three places better ranked than him on the ATP list.
In the first set, Kecmanović made breaks in the fourth and eighth games, while saving two break points in the fifth.
In the second set, Giron was the first to make a break and took a 4:3 lead, but the Serb immediately responded, and then saved two break points, which was practically the announcement of a tie-break. There, the American was convincing and forced a third set.

Several long games were played there, but no breaks were seen. Kecmanović took a 3:0 lead in the tie-break, but Giron managed to come back and level at 5:5. The Serbian tennis player soon after missed two match points, as did his rival, before a mini-break on Giron’s serve finally sealed the match for Miomir.
In the next round, the round of sixteen, Kecmanović awaits the winner of the match between Lehečka and Darderi.
By the way, the tournament in Munich is played on clay and belongs to the 500 series, which means that a good result could bring Kecmanović a big jump in the rankings.
