The traditional NBA All-Star game will be played on Sunday, and once again Nikola Jokić will take part. The Sombor native spoke at a press conference ahead of this spectacle.
The Serbian player is honored to be participating in the “All-Star” game for the eighth time.
“It’s a great feeling to represent Serbia at an event like this. I don’t know if you’ve seen the jerseys, but there is a Serbian flag on them, that’s a special little detail that I liked. I’m glad to represent my people, my country, my city, my family at an event like this,” Nikola stated.
Nikola received a locker right next to Luka Dončić’s in the locker room.
“That’s normal, it’s always like that, because the two of us are like brothers,” said Jokić, who jokingly told Luka during their meeting that he had gained weight.
He did not have the opportunity to speak with Darko Rajaković and Ivo Simović, who will lead Team World at the All-Star.
“I arrived late, I saw Darko, he was out for a walk with Ivo (Simović), his wife and child. We ran into each other by chance, we haven’t seen each other yet today, we’ll see each other and hang out.”
However, he did meet with Boban Marjanović, whom he also warmly, brotherly greeted.
Earlier, Jokić and Dončić had their own show during the Team World photo session.
He was surprised by DeMarcus Cousins, who asked him whether he would rather win another MVP trophy or have his horses constantly win. The answer was not surprising.
“Hey, it’s you, what’s up (laughter)? I’ve already won three MVP trophies, so I would always choose for my horses to win,” Jokić said.
