A Serbian citizen was injured in a shooting that occurred at a company in Jordan when a fired employee opened fire with a Kalashnikov.
As reported by “New Arab”, the company director, a British citizen, was killed in the attack, while in addition to the Serbian citizen, another Jordanian was injured. The suspected attacker, the fired employee, has been arrested.
The attack took place on Monday at a factory in Aqaba. According to local reports, the Briton was a manager at the company and was attacked by a masked man who entered the factory and opened fire.
The injured Serbian citizen and Jordanian, whose identities have not been released, were taken to the hospital. The Public Security Directorate announced that the suspect was arrested after a 24-hour manhunt, and the attack was allegedly triggered by the employee’s dismissal.

A video circulating online shows a masked man entering the factory and shooting three people with a Kalashnikov. The Aqaba Special Economic Zone, where the incident reportedly took place, is a free zone that is a center for various industries, including the chemical industry and logistics, where workers are reportedly facing difficult working conditions. A report released earlier this year stated that a total of 173 labor lawsuits were filed in the first six months of 2024.
