However, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police has not yet officially confirmed the name of the suspect in its public reports.

Official confirmation via official channels
The competent authorities emphasized that the investigation is still ongoing, and that official confirmation of identity will be published via official channels only after all verification processes are completed.
The police also have not yet released detailed information about the motive for the attack, nor about the exact sequence of events that led to the shooting.
Media reports indicate that on a public YouTube account, believed to be linked to Jesse Strang, a transgender flag was displayed and the pronouns “she/her” were used. These details were shared massively on social media in the hours following the identification.

Danger of speculation
Law enforcement officials have not made public statements regarding the gender identity or personal background of the suspect. Investigators usually first focus on establishing facts regarding the crime itself, potential accomplices, and the existence of any warning signs, before moving deeper into personal or ideological aspects.
The authorities also warned of the danger of speculation, noting that in cases that attract great public attention, misinformation can spread very quickly.
