Marija Vasić’s husband, David Trnavac, stated on Novi dan that they still have no official information about his wife’s health condition while she is in the prison hospital in Belgrade.

“The only thing we can hope for is that she is in better condition than she was on Tuesday. Everyone is silent about her condition, there is no information from the institutions,” he says.

According to him, there is also no response to the official request for her medical documentation.

“We have not received any response and we cannot get visit permits because there is no one in the court. We are waiting for Monday to see if anyone will appear, to request visit permits, so that we can find out how she is and in what physical and mental state she is,” he emphasizes.

He also believes that the support rallies for his wife and other detained activists are the only option they have, and that he believes that this kind of pressure will lead to some results.

When asked what he thinks, whether Marija will continue her fight after her release from detention, he says:

“She will certainly continue her fight, that’s for sure. She is not someone who gives up regardless of the obstacles.”

He adds that the family is more or less well, the only thing that worries them is the ignorance of Marija’s condition.

“That is really killing us in a way,” he concludes.

As a reminder, six activists and students of the opposition Movement of Free Citizens (PSG) and the Students Against Authoritarianism (STAV) organization have been in custody for more than 60 days after being accused of attempting to overthrow the constitutional order, and the court extended their detention for another 30 days on Tuesday.

Another six STAV activists are charged with the same crime, and they were abroad at the time of the arrest, where they remain today.

All are accused based on an audio recording of an illegally wiretapped conversation, which was broadcast on regime televisions on March 14.

The defendants’ lawyers have repeatedly claimed that the Security Intelligence Agency (BIA) wiretapped the conversation illegally and added that the audio recording cannot be legally valid evidence in the process.
