A couple of days ago, Nikola Jokić, three-time NBA MVP and Denver Nuggets member, visited Ferrara, Italy, to tour stables and horses, his great passion outside of basketball.
During his stay, he lodged at an accommodation run by the wife of Italian anesthesiologist Alessandro Zaparoli.
Interestingly, Zaparoli’s wife did not recognize the famous basketball player.
She sent her husband a photo of the tall guest, stating that he “came to see horses” and was “very tall,” but she didn’t know who he was. Only after Zaparoli saw the photo did he realize it was Nikola Jokić.
Unfortunately, he didn’t get the chance to meet him in person, which he commented on with the words: “Never, never, no joy whatsoever.”
This visit was not Jokić’s first to Ferrara; four years ago, along with his father, he also toured stables in the region, including the Zenzalino stable. This anecdote further highlights Jokić’s humility and dedication to his interests off the court.
